This one-day workshop focuses on the process of fine art photography from conception to exhibition. It is designed for committed photographic artists who are interested in fine-tuning their creative process and learning more about the business of fine art photography.
The first part of the workshop covers various aspects of the creative process itself. We will talk about conceiving, producing and refining a body of work, and discuss what it means to be a photographer today. Through lecture, discussion and Q&A the class will explore the process behind creating a strong and meaningful body of work that is attuned to the contemporary world.
The second part of the workshop deals with the nuts and bolts of making a living as a full-time artist. Chris will share from his own experiences and knowledge about how to get one's work out into the wider world. Topics covered will include working with galleries, using the internet, meeting people and finding an audience for your work -- in short, how to launch yourself as an artist.
